This Green MBA is different from other MBA degrees in the sense that renewable energy sector transcends national boundaries and national energy conversations. Therefore, one has to be prepared to work with international teams and be comfortable with interdisciplinary knowledge. Also, having deep technical skills will make one stand out. Therefore, if you have an engineering or materials science background will make you more marketable after finishing your green MBA degree. Alternatively, having long-term industry experience will also allow one to integrate the technical and management skills. Training and Education in MBA Solar Energy

However, these MBA degree will become more specialized and focus on various alternative energy sources (wind, solar, biomass, and geothermal etc.). As an example, if one is interested in working with solar energy company in a management position then it will be important to get specialized management training in the field.

A MBA in solar energy will provide an overview of various renewable energy technologies and then focus more on solar energy technologies (e.g. photovoltaic cells), advantages and disadvantages of solar energy, national and international energy policies (including tax credits, rebates etc.), and challenges on the ground to install and harvest renewable energy sources. The management training will also include understanding the complexity of renewable energy markets, which are dictated by local politics and economic situations.
