Exploring China Solar Energy!!
China Solar Energy is developing at a very fast pace. According to Reuters, China plans to double its solar capacity to around 2 gigawatts (GW) by the end of this year as the country is going to ramp up domestic installations. The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has proposed certain plans to increase the construction of solar power plants in the country. Currently, China has create capacity to produce 900 megawatts of solar power which exceeds their previous proposed plan of 2006 by 500 MW. Solar Energy China is now proposed to grow to 10 GW by 2015 and 20 GW by 2020. This confirms the report by the Guardian newspaper that the government is committed to raising the share of renewable energy (excluding hydroelectric power) in the energy mix to 6%, from the current 1.5%. This growth has been possible due to the falling cost of Photovoltaic (PV) panels or solar panels China. In fact, it is estimated that the cost of solar energy is going to drop about 10-20 % each year. Therefore, one can assume that by year 2015, the cost of solar electricity will be very similar to the traditional electricity fees we currently pay.

Then new laws in China creates a favorable environment to support renewable energy projects. These include authorization of favorable feed-in tariffs for electricity generated by renewable power generation (including solar alternative energy, wind renewable energy etc.), financial incentives for setting up alternative energy projects, and loans and tax breaks to support various renewable energy projects.

One such plan is to set unified benchmark grid feed-in power tariffs for solar projects around the country. That is very different from what happens in the United States where each state sets its own policy and it can vary substantially from state to state. The proposed tariff of 1 yuan for each kWh is higher than previous proposals (.73 to .99 yuan) and therefore it going to propel the China solar energy China industry. China energy solar will continue to be a major exporter of solar panels that use photovoltaic technology and the western world seems to be unable to compete with cheap labor costs, favorable government policies, and easy investment in the solar energy industry in China. These policies and other aggressive actions is expected to give a boost to the domestic solar energy China, which has lagged behind China's wind, nuclear and hydroelectric power sectors.
